Research
Where the next capability begins.
Our research turns difficult questions in autonomy, safety and sustainability into systems that can be trusted in the real world, and much of it becomes the next release of our platforms.
Urban air mobility
Moving cities, sustainably.
We are developing advanced air mobility solutions aligned with global sustainability goals. The airspace oversight work in Skylark OptiFlight is designed to extend towards urban air mobility, so the compliance foundations are in place before the traffic arrives.
Autonomous systems
Self-learning, within clear limits.
We integrate autonomous systems that learn but operate with restricted autonomy, to strengthen infrastructure resilience and operational efficiency. The result is faster emergency response and more streamlined maintenance, which lowers cost and supports sustainability over the long term.
By drawing on artificial intelligence and machine learning, we create systems that adapt to changing conditions and allocate resources sensibly, ideas that run through both Kestrel and YieldOS.
Research principles
Three commitments that shape every project.
Human factors first
We draw on aviation human-factors research, including how operators make sound decisions under sudden, high-pressure conditions, and design systems around the people who use them.
Evidence over hype
Claims are tested, not assumed. Our methods favour measurable performance and reproducible results, so partners can rely on what we publish and build.
Sustainable by intent
Environmental impact is a design input, not an afterthought, across mobility, agriculture and infrastructure work alike.
